Easy Star All-Stars, best known for their reggae re-interpretations of classic albums, like Radiohead’s OK Computer and the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, are returning to Australia this summer for their first shows since 2009.

To make the trip extra special, the group will be playing their most celebrated work, Dub Side of the Moon, the reggae re-vision of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon, in full. Dub Side is one of the most successful reggae albums of the 21st century and helped propel the Easy Star All-Stars on a tour schedule since 2003 that has brought them to 6 continents and over 30 countries.

The band has been active since their last trip to Australia, playing over 300 shows, and releasing Dubber Side of the Moon (2010), a remix album of Dub Side of the Moon, as well as a full-length record of original music, First Light, earlier this year.  The group has played at numerous major festivals around the world and garnered a 2009 UK Festy nomination for best festival show after their three-day play at Glastonbury.

Easy Star All-Stars operates as a collective of the best reggae musicians in the New York area and beyond. The group is in the early stages of arranging and recording their next tribute album, which is slated to come out in 2012.

Fri Dec 30  - The Corner Hotel, Melbourne VIC
