Ballot for Meredith Music Festival now open

Set for the first weekend of December, the Meredith Music Festival has just opened its ticket ballot for its 21st birthday.

After creating legions of fervent followers over its 20 year history on Australia's festival calendar, the Meredith Music Festival is set to launch its 21st birthday this Summer over the 9th, 10th and 11th of December. With a teaser line-up announcement set to drop tomorrow morning, Meredith have now opened the ticket ballot that guarantees you the best chance of scoring tickets to the Victorian festicular gem. You have until Friday 10th of August to enter the ballot over at the official Meredith website, http://2011.mmf.com.au/.

As for the line-up announcement? Little is known at this stage, but an early line-up leak found on the facebook page for Sydney's 80's new-wave giants Icehouse suggests they'll be making an appearance, while the recent reformations of Ratcat, Clouds and the Screaming Tribesmen are all wry suggestions that they might be making their way down to Meredith in December. Other rumours we're hearing/suggesting include a possible appearance by My Morning Jacket (who would surely be coming down for Falls if they don't appear on Meredith's bill) and a showing by best-rock-band-in-Australia, The Drones, in support of a potential upcoming album due in mid-2012.
