Sound Republic: Splendour 2011

New Splendour ticketing options available

New Splendour ticketing options available

With Splendour just over a month away, a series of tickets have become available through the website's resale facility, in addition to a special ticketing allotment which lands you a 20% discount.

If you're reading this, then you're all to familiar with the ticketing bungle that has preceded the 2011 Splendour in the Grass festival. All Westpac credit cards shut down on the day of the festival, and according to the festival's official announcement, it was this break in sales momentum which resulted in the failure to sell out Australia's largest camping festival. With camping tickets selling out in May (auspiciously, a couple of days before refunds opened,) the only option remaining for would-be Splendour goers was a festival pass and the hard slog of tracking down off-site accomodation.

Now, however, some more appealling options have opened up. Firstly, the availability of combined festival/camping tickets have returned via the festival's resale facility, allowing you the opportunity to revel in Woodford's phenomenal campground. Alternatively, if the $500 price tag is still too much for you to handle, Visa and Splendour have partnered to offer a ticket to the festival with free off-site camping (with Visa branded fences, amenities and shuttle buses no doubt) for $400 - a tidy 20% discount and an attractive prospect considering the word from Glastonbury regarding the excellence of the soon-to-be Splendour acts.

These new ticketing options are available via ticketek for the festival featuring Kanye West, Pulp and Coldplay as its headliners.
