Canadian one-man band Mark Sultan aka BBQ is returning to Australian shores in February armed with his unique hybrid of soul-punk-doo-wop-garage-rock.

Having toured Australia in June 2010 as half of King Khan and BBQ, Mark Sultan will be touring Australia for the first time as a solo performer and one man band.

Playing tracks from his latest album $ as well as favorites from his back catalogue, Mark Sultan is a one man melting pot where Doo-wop, R&B, punk, soul, garage-rock, psyche, country and even noise are blended into a seamless new sound that finds a place at the base of your spine and slowly crawls its way up. Wielding an electric guitar, a bass and snare drum attached to his feet while singing simultaneously, the guy is a born entertainer.

Mark Sultan will be driving audiences into a frenzy on Thursday 10 February at Goodgod Small Club in Sydney, Friday 11 February at The Step Inn in Brisbane, Saturday 12 February at The Tote in Melbourne, followed by a show on Thursday 17 February at The Nash in Geelong and will wrap up his Australian tour with a very special show on Saturday 19 February at Yah Yah’s in Melbourne. From North and South America to Israel and Japan via Africa and back, Mark Sultan has toured the world with bands like Black Lips, King Khan & The Shrines and Vivian Girls, just to name a few.
