Amanda Palmer to release Australian album

Following up an EP of Radiohead covers played on ukulele, Amanda Palmer is back with the aptly titled Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under. The new album will be supported with a national tour throughout February.
A collection of live and studio tracks with an Antipodean theme, the album berates a lover for his love of vegemite and celebrates a lady’s nether regions with the new single ‘Map of Tasmania’. All material for this album was lovingly penned for and recorded in Australia and New Zealand. The album features Nick Cave covers among others.
Palmer has engaged in a very public struggle to be released from her major label contract, and has since made noteable use of the internet as a distribution and marketing tool for her music. Amanda Palmer Goes Down Under will be available in stores in Australia, but true to form, there will also be download options and packages availble through her website.
Throughout February Palmer will be making her way around the country for a series of shows. She will also be appearing at Tasmania's MONO FOMA festival in January, and hitting Adelaide for the Fringe Festival in March.
