After releasing his A-Z themed autobiography 'How to Make Gravy' to sweeping critical acclaim, Australia's premier singer-songwriter Paul Kelly has caught up with technology to turn it into an iPhone app.

How DO you make gravy? Paul Kelly, the pen behind some of the tracks most imprinted in this country's psyche first recommended flour, salt, a little red wine and a dollop of tomato sauce...now he's recommending you add in a little Apple.

Releasing his 'mongrel memoir' How to Make Gravy only a few months ago alongside an 8 CD box set of the A to Z recordings that his autobiography was based around, he has now turned it all into an interactive iPhone app that promises to be one hell of a reading experience for Paul Kelly and Australian music fans alike.

Mirroring the unique structure of the memoir, the app lets you read the unabridged version of the e-book while consulting your iPod's library to play any versions of the songs you own as you read about them. Kelly himself claims that "the app is the format closest to [his] original conception of the book which is as much for the ears as the eyes," and, well, we're not ones to argue with the guy.

You can pick the app up (so to speak) from iTunes for $20 right now, available for iPad and iPhone devices. For everyone else though, Kelly is touring his acclaimed A-Z show nation-wide on the dates listed here.
