After ten years holding the fort as one Australia's finest purveyors of old school funk, Melbourne's The Bamboos are set to play a huge 10th anniversary show at the Prince of Wales Bandroom.

Generally acknowledged as Australia's finest modern Funk & Soul band, Melbourne's The Bamboos are preparing for a massive home town 10th Anniversary celebration at The Prince of Wales Bandroom.

Emerging from the 'Deep Funk' scene of the early-2000's, The Bamboos have since forged a unique sound of their own, crossing old school funk and soul with latter day influences to the support of a rapidly growing international fanbase.

They've put out four studio albums, crossed over to international acclaim in the UK and have been featured on shows as diverse as Greys Anatomy, Ugly Betty and the significantly lessened achievement of Bondi Rescue. And now, in a retrospective showcase featuring an assortment of guests from The Bamboos past, they're taking it all to Melbourne for one very large 10th anniversary ganza.

With a set list that covers the full spectrum of their rich musical catalogue and support by Electric Empire this is a night that Melbournian funk fans of past and present should be pencilling into their calendars immediately.

The details for The Bamboos 10th Anniversary Show are in all their resplendent glory right here:

Friday 14 January - The Prince Bandroom
With special guests Electric Empire and DJs Pierre Baroni, Kano, Ennio Styles + Chris Gill.
Tickets on sale Friday 12 November.
