Now nestled in its own home at Tyagarah outside of Byron Bay, the East Coast Blues and Roots Festival has put out a massive first line-up announcement for its 22nd anniversary.

Before we get started, I'll give you time to book your plane tickets and accomodation. Byron Bay's East Coast Blues and Roots Festival has just announced one of its biggest line-ups in recent memory headlined by the legendary trifecta of Bob Dylan, Elvis Costello and B.B. King.

Rumours of America's folk laureate appearing at Bluesfest have been running for several years now, shaping up for some as either an inevitability or an impossibility. In 2011 though, Bob Dylan finally makes it to Australia's festival circuit. Likewise, one of England's most prolific songwriters of the 1980's in Elvis Costello will bring his brand of constantly evolving music to the festival, likely to be playing his latest iteration of country and blues heard on 2009's Secrets, Profrane and Sugarcane. Meanwhile,  B.B. King, as one of the true legends of the Blues, is the third in a massive headlining trio making their way to Bluesfest for the first time.

Other artists in the first line-up announcement include Bluesfest favourite Michael Franti, gospel legends The Blind Boys of Alabama, Ben Harper's latest project Fistful of Mercy and his Relentless 7, and female folk staples The Indigo Girls. Also announced are;  Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Cat Empire,  Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Mavis Staples, Xavier Rudd, Trinity Roots, Little Bushman, Tony Joe White, Kate Miller-Heidke, C.W. Stoneking, Jeff Lang, Washington, Ruthie Foster, Eric Bibb and The Saltwater Band.

Keep in mind that Bluesfest rarely disappoint with their second, third and final line-up announcements and you're pretty well guaranteed that the 2011 Bluesfest will host Australia's biggest festival line-up of next year if it hasn't already.

Tickets for Bluesfest are on sale now with the festival set to run over the Easter long weekend from Thursday the 21st to Monday the 25th of April.
