Woodford Folk Festival announces 25th anniversary programme
25 October 2010
With 25 years under their belt, the Queensland Folk Federation's festival at Woodfordia has announced a huge programme to mark their quarter century.
Featuring 3000 performers, artists and thinkers alongside two former Prime Ministers, Woodford has once again assembled one of the most diverse programmes on the Australian festival calendar. Having consistently delivered on their promise of an epic journey into the kaleidoscope of Australian culture, Queensland's Woodford Folk Festival aren't letting anyone down with the set of names thrown together for their silver anniversary.
Musically, you are incredibly well catered for, with international guests Arrested Development, The Dynamites, Daara J Family, Dan Mangan and Passenger all making the trek to our shores. Meanwhile, the local bill is filled with some of our finest, with You Am I, The Cat Empire, Tim Freedman, Jeff Lang, Basement Birds and Kate Miller-Heidke some of the most notable amongst the endless run of names.
Add to all that the sequel to last year's incredible arts installation Disturbia, an endless array of environmental talks by names such as Prof. Ian Lowe and a swathe of workshops and events, and you've got yourself a week of festival that's going to extensively fill up your diary.
Running from the 27th of December to the 1st of January and located in the stunning 500-acre festival site of Woodfordia, this is a festival that's much loved by the thousands of regular attendees and ourselves, as you can see with our extensive coverage of year's prior at the Woodford Festival profile.
