The dynamic Sola Rosa are heading to Australia to launch their new album in November with performances at Shine On Festival, Subsonic Festival as well as shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

eturning to Australia after supporting The Original Wailers last year, Sola Rosa are releasing their new album ‘Get It Together’ which hit gold sales in New Zealand and was nominated for best Electronica album at last years New Zealand Music awards.

Picking up where their 2005 album ‘Moves On’ left off, ‘Get It Together’ features a sweating, smoking live band, made up of long-term members of the Rosa roster - Will Scott (drums), Matt Short (bass), and Ben White (guitar). The album’s songs have then been swathed in producer/founder Andrew Spraggon’s studio sorcery, tooled-up for maximum dancefloor impact.

Contributors/collaborators on the album include vocal cuts from Spikey Tee (best known for his work with Jah Wobble, Bomb The Bass, Mark Rae); German globetrotter, poet, and singer Bajka; UK MC Serocee; and emerging Wellingtonian songstress Iva Lamkum (who will be featured on this tour).

Since its inception in 1999 Sola Rosa has evolved from a self-released one-man project spearheaded by Andrew Spraggon, to a full fleged live powerhouse, releasing four albums to date, each one picking up a swagger of nominations and critical acclaim along the way – including Spraggon’s Producer of the year award nomination at the 2009 New Zealand music awards.

Based in Auckland, Sola Rosa’s sound fuses elements of diverse genres with skewed soundtracks rubbing shoulders with elements of dub, soul, funk, latin and jazz. This diversity makes headway in ‘Get It Together’, taking in a wide swathe of genres, and walking an ever-erratic line between organic and electronic elements. The songs continue to pull off that patented trick of bewitching and beguiling ears in equal proportion and is further proof of the solid sonic sorcery that is Sola Rosa.
