From November until April next year, Paul Kelly will tour The A To Z shows, performing 100 songs from his vast catalogue alphabetically over four consecutive nights in cities around the nation. These intimate acoustic performances will take place in Brisbane, Perth, Sydney, Canberra, Hobart, Darwin, Melbourne, Alice Springs and Adelaide. Tickets go on sale on Friday October 8th. See full list of tour dates below. The tickets will be sold as either for individual nights, or as multi night bundles. The more nights one attends, the cheaper the per night ticket price becomes.

Paul Kelly is a born storyteller. For the past thirty years he has written songs inspired by everything from cricket to religion, from social issues to literature, and of course the land and the history of Australia. His songs have the power to connect people of all generations. Favourites such as ‘Before Too Long’, ‘Dumb Things’, ‘From Little Things Big Things Grow’, ‘How To Make Gravy’, ‘Leaps and Bounds’ and ‘To Her Door’ will all be included in these intimate concert performances.

On September 27th Paul’s long-awaited memoir was released through Penguin Books, its genesis in a series of Spiegeltent concerts first staged in 2004. Those concert performances shaped the now famous A To Z shows.  From the little stories he told in between songs at those shows grew the book ‘How to Make Gravy’.

To compliment this magnificent book, an 8 CD box set, ‘The A To Z Recordings’ has been released in a beautifully presented hard back package with a 64 page booklet of photographs and 8 discs encompassing live recordings of Paul’s vast catalogue of songs.

Paul explains the development of the A To Z recordings,
“Most songs were recorded live between 2004 and 2010 at various places during the A To Z shows. The idea was to present the songs undressed, in many cases close to how they sounded when they were first written, before being arranged with a band.”

Expect nothing short of a playful and honest, insightful and intimate performance from Paul Kelly at these shows.
