6s & 7s tour nationally
18 August 2010
Following a huge album launch in hometown Perth, 6s & 7s will launch their acclaimed debut Choose The Sentinel Blooze in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide this month with several local acts joining them for the ride.
6s & 7s will be supported by Traps and Des Miller at Melt in Sydney on Thursday 26 August, Teeth & Tongue and Jack on Fire at The Workers Club in Melbourne on Friday 27 August, and Hawks of Alba at The Grace Emily Hotel in Adelaide on Sunday 29 August.
Featuring the unique talents of Josh Fontaine, previously the frontman for Perth’s now-defunct The Stickfigures, Choose the Sentinel Blooze contains reinventions of live favourites including the 2007 WAMi Song of the Year ‘Holidayz’ and ‘Kissing for Science’, and also introduces a batch of amazing new songs.
A lo-fi epic stitching the ephemera of Panda Bear to the futuristic sadness of Grandaddy, Choose the Sentinel Blooze features contributions from over 20 members of the Perth music community. The result is a record as quirky and grand as a hungover Pet Sounds.
The record has already made an impact across the country, achieving feature album status on RTR FM (Perth) and rotation on triple j and FBi (Sydney).
Formed in 2008, 6s & 7s have quickly risen through the Perth music ranks to become one of the best known and most frequently gigging pop bands in town. Featuring current and former members of New Rules for Boats, Superengine, Dom Mariani and the Majestic Kelp, the Burton Cool Suit and The Bank Holidays, they band has spent the last two years reacquainting audiences with the live power of Fontaine’s falsetto voice and fiery guitar, and been showcasing their new band line up.
6s & 7s Choose the Sentinel Blooze is available now through Love Is My Velocity and distributed by Fuse Music Group. Don’t miss them launch the album in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide this month.
