Blue King Brown back with Worldwize
16 August 2010
On August 20th 2010, Blue King Brown will release Worldwize, the highly anticipated follow up to their debut LP release, Stand Up (2006). Worldwize is a massive undertaking for Australia's righteous purveyors of globally conscious Urban roots music.
A two part, four disc odyssey, that began in BKB’s Melbourne HQ & evolved over years and continents to encompass a vast vision of musical unity. Part 1 - North & South is only the beginning.
The first single off the album, Woman’s Revolution featuring Kingston’s Queen Ifrica, has been one of the most added tracks to alternative radio since it was serviced mid-June, and continues to gather rave reviews from critics.
“'Women's Revolution' feels deeper than anything the ten-piece have written before. You can just crank it on the stereo and swim in Natalie Paapaa's mellifluous vocals.” – JJJ HOME & HOSED.
This is a band that has achieved a hell of a lot as an independent act – having toured with the likes of Santana and Lauryn Hill among others, slowly-but-surely making their mark on audiences globally. They’ve headlined international tours through Japan, Europe, UK (sold out their first ever London show at the famous ‘Borderline’), America and Canada, as well as festival appearances at Summer Sonic (Japan), Sierra Nevada (USA), Reggae Rising (USA), Montreal Jazz Festival (CANADA) Gurtenfestival (SWITZERLAND), Das Fest (GERMANY), Pohoda (SLOVAKIA), Sumol Sol (PORTUGAL), Fou Caves (FRANCE) and the list goes on and on…
Studio recording sessions in Kingston, New York, Las Vegas, New Zealand and Melbourne have been woven into a rigorous worldwide touring schedule and have led to the creation of a remarkable double disk record with international appeal, Worldwize Part 1 North & South.
The combined effect of North & South is like taking a long journey in two directions at once, with a travelling carnival of world class musicians, producers, MCs and a righteous harmony chorus — horns swinging, bass sliding, keys, guitars and FX assembling an irresistible offbeat groove.
