After much speculation, Fat as Butter are thrilled to announce that Grammy Award winning rock outfit, Wolfmother will be headlining this year’s festival to be held on the Newcastle Foreshore, Saturday October 23.

International rock sensations, Wolfmother, are heading back to our shores in October as part of their 18 month long world tour. The band, which formed in Erskineville took to the world stage when their self titled debut album was released in 2005. Including the hits ‘Woman’ and ‘Joker and the Thief” and with a string of awards including ARIA’s, a Brit Award and a Grammy, Wolfmother is now internationally recognized worldwide as one of the best rock acts to emerge in the last decade. In the last 12 months  they have release their sensational and much anticipated follow up album ‘Cosmic Egg’, supported AC/DC on their national tour and if that wasn’t enough their smash hit ‘Joker and the Thief’ was heard in theatres all over the world when it was used in the soundtrack of ‘The Hangover’.

Over the past two years Fat as Butter HQ have delivered some of the best artists on the Australian circuit including Hilltop Hoods, Grinspoon, Art Vs Science, Blue Juice, Birds of Tokyo, Faker, Regurgitator, The Potbelleez and in our first year international sensation The Dandy Warhols joined the party. The addition of Wolfmother for 2010 just steps things up an extra notch.

The 3rd Annual Fat as Butter Festival will take place on Saturday October 23 back where it all started at Camp Shortland, The Foreshore . We just decided you can’t go past that perfect Nobby’s beach backdrop.

This years extravaganza will again be spread across 3 stages with easily our biggest and best line up of acts to date gracing the shores of Nobbys Beach. Covering everything from Rock ,Hip Hop, Electro, Roots, Pop and Dance, it promises to deliver something for everyone. We are also excited about the move to Saturday (with both previous dates having fallen on a Sunday), so get in touch with all you’re out of town mates and tell them to book the weekend into their diary!

The full the line-up will be announced shortly, so watch this space.
