"I see them as sonic Polaroids, they all belong together."  That’s how Megan Washington assesses her stunning debut album, I Believe You, Liar (out 30 July 2010): a series of snapshots spanning 24 years, taking in everything from family to friends, crushes to heartbreak, trust, love, loss, lust, guilt, joy and everything in between.   The album features Washington favourites Cement, Clementine, How To Tame Lions, Rich Kids and the new single Sunday Best.

Sunday Best is a story about lust and breaking up; Meg says “it just basically sounds like ‘I wanna have sex with you’ – which is, really, what it’s about”.

On July 30, Washington release their album with a sunset gig at Splendour In The Grass. Their performance will mark the beginning of a national tour celebrating the release of their album, and what promises to be one of the best Australian tours of the year!

Washington’s traveling musicarnival will include very special guests Dan Kelly, Winter People and Scott Spark – with the R.E.S.P.E.C.T. DJ’s offering up a nightly dose of classic Motown and soul hits to get the party started in each city. The tour commences in Fremantle and will shimmy across all Australian states for the following 2 months, showcasing killer live tracks Clementine, Rich Kids, Cement and Sunday Best - amongst a full-length band set that also includes plenty of surprises.

It has been an extra-ordinary 12 months for Megan Washington. Unearthed by triple j last summer, her band Washington played their first gig at the Big Day Out and an almost surreal whirlwind of activity has followed. Washington’s live show has a growing reputation as all-singing, all-dancing affairs, with costumes, cupcakes and some of Australia’s most wonderful new songwriting on display.

Tickets are on-sale from July 5, and for a limited time various premium ticket packages can be purchased from www.washingtonmusic.com.au. These offers include copies of the new album, collector’s edition 2 CD set with a personally autographed Polaroid, limited edition box-set, vinyl along with your ticket to the upcoming tour.
