Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star fame is embarking on her first ever Australian tour with shows in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth this month. To celebrate, Soulshine is giving away three double passes to these show.

Wednesday 24th June: Brisbane, Tivoli Theatre
Friday 25th June: Sydney, Enmore Theatre
Sunday 27th June: Melbourne, Forum Theatre
Monday 28th June: Perth, Astor Theatre

Hope Sandoval first launched herself into public consciousness during the 1990s as the voice of iconic indie-outfit, Mazzy Star. A collaboration between Hope and former Opal guitarist Dave Roback, Mazzy Star issued three albums of hazy post-psychedelia (including the MTV hit Fade Into You) to massive critical acclaim and an ever growing fanbase. However, by the end of the 1990s and following a short European tour, Mazzy Star began an indefinite hiatus.

In 2001, Hope, with the aid of My Bloody Valentine's Colm O'Ciosoig, embarked on a solo career. Bavarian Fruit Bread (featuring the classics Suzanne & Around My Smile), was the first initiative of this new collaboration and carried on the dream-laden Mazzy Star sound. An eight year break followed before the arrival of a second solo album Through the Devil Softly, featuring the new single, Trouble.

Along the way Hope Sandoval has contributed her voice to a variety of other artists' work, including: The Jesus & Mary Chain, Air, Death in Vegas, The Chemical Brothers and most recently, Massive Attack. Currently Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions can be seen touring the US and Europe with future stints at ATP and the Primavera Festival planned.

Joining Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions for all Australian shows will be Dirty Three guitarist Mick Turner (with Jeffrey Wegener) as well as new US outfit Dirt Blue Gene a/k/a The Warm Inventions.
