Nicky Bomba has been playing with The John Butler Trio across the planet, for the first part of 2010 and with the JBT’s new #1 release, ‘April Uprising’, it is not about to slowdown for the trio.

However keeping true to form Nicky Bomba always has his hand in a million musical pies, including his own. Following the release of ‘Planet Juice’, Nicky’s first ever solo project, he is wanting to share with fans one of the tracks and it’s wicked film clip to boot. Rock Ya Mama will be available to download for FREE through his website.

Rock Ya Mama was written and recorded with Nicky’s good friends and long time collaborators (from the 10 piece Middle Eastern Boogie Outfit Unified Geko [2003]), Alisha Brooks and Murat Yucel, now of bOTTOMENd Empire. Being released in Turkey also, this single is true to its global nature.

A smooth tune, of dancehall rhythms that sway back and forth between pulsating global beats, Rock Ya Mama highlights Bomba’s sensual vocal complimented by a fluid sax line (Alisha), while the Turkish rap sung by Murat, sets the tone for the lyric and inspired the film clip's treatment.

Shot in Melbourne and Istanbul, by Turkish wizz kid Yetkin Kaygisiz, the clip incorporates animation and morphing, commenting on the state of our planet and humanity with all the technology we have. A call to be aware of our caretaker role, for this our Mother Earth… “So why you Rock Ya Mama?”

Rock Ya Mama is now available to download for FREE via www.nickybomba.com
