Soulshine favourite Whitley will make his first Woodford appearance at the 2010 festival off the back of his second album, "Go Forth, Find Mammoth".

Immediately recognisable by his soft, smokey vocals, Whitley is a name that most Soulshiner's should be familiar with. He's back with "Go Forth, Find Mammoth", the followup album to 2007's "The Submarine".

Starting out as yet another kid with an acoustic guitar that many Soulshine members will remember hanging out on the old Xavier Rudd and Soulshine message boards. The first taste most got of his unique sound came on "The Circles EP", a 2005 release on Rob Sawyer's Treehouse Records imprint. The rootsy/country release was the only release under his own name... shortly thereafter going in a completely different -- and definitely unique -- direction.

A little while later, he reemerged recording as Whitley with a unique, stripped back sound that straddles territory somewhere between folk, rock and electronic. It was here that he started getting attention with considerable Triple J airplay and a national ad campaign prominently featuring "Lost in Time", the stand-out single from his debut album "The Submarine".

Whitley's back in 2009 with a new release, "Go Forth, Find Mammoth". The unmistakable vocals are back, and the acoustic guitar backing is mostly there, but on this release sees Whitley branching off into new sonic territory with a bigger, more explosive sound.

Whitley plays Sunday 27th at The Grande at 5:40pm and Monday 28th in the Amphitheatre at 8:15pm. For the latest playing times and ticketing info check http://www.woodfordfolkfestival.com/
