New Zealand's biggest export in the past few years has been a wealth of dub bands, closely followed by milk and associated dairy products. As one of the vanguard's of the NZ dub movement, Salmonella Dub are making their way across the Tasman Sea to visit Australia once again.

As pioneers of New Zealand’s unmistakable sonic mix of dub, reggae, drum n bass, hip hop, and rock, Salmonella Dub have paved the way for countless acts to carve a career here in Australia and garnered a loyal and committed, long time fan base. They return to Australia in November with a new studio album (the first run will be sold with a limited edition premium disc), and a national tour.

‘Freak Controller’ is the band’s seventh full length studio LP, and will be in store mid November, 2009 through Virgin/ EMI. ‘Freak Controller’

features guests including the Tuhoe diva Whirimako Black, The Mighty Asterix, MC Mana [Ex Rhombus] and Ants from Budspells.

Salmonella Dub will hit Australia late November for an East Coast tour, with the full live band and guests back to showcase the album. They will be joined by a host of special guests including seven piece reggae, roots collective Cornerstone Roots.

If you can’t wait until November, Salmonella Dj Soundsystem Dj Rudeboy aka Andrew from Salmonella Dub plus the band’s horn section - Skitter on bone/trumpet and Ants on Sax - are joined by Aotearoa’s very own celtic rasta the Mighty Asterix and Mc Mana to showcase selections/dubplates from ‘Freak Controller’ here in October. These shows are at Hermans in Sydney on Thursday 15th, at 299 in Brisbane on Friday 16th and at the Fresh Festival on the Gold coast on October 17th.

‘Freak Controller’ is in store mid November, 2009 through Virgin/ EMI.
