Next in Soulshine's 'Woodford Files' ongoing coverage of Woodford Folk Festival 2008-09 is modern Aussie bluesman Ash Grunwald.
Woodford favourite Ash Grunwald is back once again for 2008/09 off his latest release Fish Out Of Water, the most grooved up album yet from the Victorian bluesman. Grunwald artfully combines soaring vocals with dirty guitar, junkyard percussion and electronic samples to create a one-man show to be reckoned with. The latest album was produced by TZU's Countbounce, firmly rooting the album in hip hop with steady beats and a thumping bass.
Ash Grunwald's festival sets are renowned for their vibrancy and energy and this year he will be performing at Woodford for two days. His first set kicks off at the Amphitheatre at 9:30PM, December 27 alongside That 1 Guy and True Live. He will return the following day for a Sunday arvo set on the 28th, playing The Grande at 2:30PM.
Note: times and dates of performances may change and should be used as a guide only. Please check with the Woodford Folk Festival website for the latest: http://www.woodfordfolkfestival.com/
