How quickly it has come around again! The Falls Festival will be going ahead in its fifteenth year and by the looks of things this year will be one incredible festival! Judging by how quickly the tickets to the Lorne side of the festival sold out, there is a lot of interest and people are keen to attend the festival, which makes for a wicked festival atmosphere.

Falls is always a highly anticipated festival and even moreso because the organisers stagger the announcements of full line-up in small instalments between the first ticket sales right up until weeks before the festival is due to begin to keep people on the edge of their seats. Falls is a 3 day event spanning from December 29th through until the 1st of January with music and performances from just over 50 acts ranging from the main stage or the big top stage to the Arts village or to the festivals own people’s stage.

Although the festival has a rootsy feel about it, the music performers range from heavy rock and hip-hop to instrumentals and DJ’s as well as supporting local acts and indie artists. Falls has been home to some big names travelling through our country stopping over to do both sides of the festival across the years and this year (so-far) anyway is looking quite promising!

The first instalment of the line-up for this years Falls is as follows: - Kings of Leon - Groove Armada - Paul Kelly - Midnight Juggernauts - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - The Waifs - Built To Spill - Gotye - Jose Gonzalez - The Go! Team - Blackalicious - The Mess Hall - Girl Talk - Kev Carmody - Whiskey Go Go’s - Neville Staple’s Specials - Magic Dirt - Sarah Blasko - Jackson Jackson To combat the issues of the scalping of Falls tickets in previous years, this year a new initiative has been introduced by having personalized tickets for each festival goer with his or her own name and their date of birth printed on individual tickets. Hence no photo ID – no entry to the festival, which is a very smart move from festival organisers! Stay tuned for the next instalment of the line-up!

The second of the three final line-up announcements have been released to the public, in addition to bands already mentioned previously, the second instalment consists of: - The Pipettes - Bonde Do Role - Angus And Julia Stone - Clare Bowditch & The Feeding Set - Cut Off Your Hands - Old Man River - Lior - Jeff Lang - The Beautiful Girls - Little Red - Operator Please - Regurgitator - The Herd - The Scientists Of Modern Music Stay tuned for the third and final instalment of this years Falls Festival line-up!
