Saturday February 24th 2007 is the launch of Emily Davis’ debut album “Moving in Slow Motion” at the Governor Hindmarsh in South Australia. This beautiful album is a reflection of Emily’s finely crafted expression of home truths woven with earthy acoustic sounds and hauntingly beautiful lyrics.

Soundscapes and stories, reflections and ballads about the beauty and tragedy of urban pursuits, are brought to life in her songwriting.
Her special guests featuring at the launch are Emily Smart (Illicit Eve), Susie Keynes (Fruit) and Monique Brumby (double ARIA Award Winner). Emily recorded the album in Melbourne earlier this year with Monique Brumby in the producer’s seat. “Moving in Slow Motion” also features ‘Badloves’ drummer Chris Tabone.

“Anthems & Odes” is the first single to be released from the album. This transformational pop/roots ballad is centred around a snapshot of a friendship fostered by fate, backgammon and Turkish coffee.

“Anthems & Odes” has already featured on the Soundslikecafe Volume 14 National cafe sampler alongside Paul Greene, David Campbell, Karma County and The Magic Numbers and is now receiving airplay on Nova in Sydney and Oztracks on ABC Radio. Emily also performed at Peatsridge Festival over new year and she and her band (The Sunday Brides) will also be performing at WOMAD in March.
